Reutzel Ready to Race after Wild Ride in Jackson Nationals Opener
Lonnie Wheatley, JACKSON, Minn. (June 2, 2017) – After a wild ride to close out the opening night of the Jackson Nationals for Aaron Reutzel, the Clute, TX, racer and the Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution/BC Fundz No. 87 Triple-X Sprint Car team are already preparing for Friday’s second night of World of Outlaws action following a quick trip to the hospital.
It was a night that started out well for Reutzel and the Wren Motorsports/Momentum Racing Suspensions team at the Jackson (MN) Motorplex with a solid qualifying effort and a runner-up heat race finish that put him in the Dash where he finished seventh in a new car that he and Shane Liebig had just assembled.
But, just a few laps into the feature, the caution lights flickered for a Kraig Kinser flip in turn three. As a car checked up in front of him, Reutzel jumped the right rear tire and went for a wild series of end-over-end flips down the frontstretch.
Emergency personnel were on the scene immediately as Reutzel exited the Nattress Construction/Wings Unlimited machine.
A trip to the hospital followed with CT scans of Reutzel’s head and back coming back clear.
With just the expected bumps and bruises from such a ride, Reutzel and the Wright Way Logistics/Walker Performance team expect to be back on track for Friday’s second round of Jackson Nationals competition.
